Design Diaries

I wanted my design diaries to mimic the style of work I created for the project. I also wanted it to act as a nice piece of print work and be presented in an interesting format.

The design diary itself was made using photographs and screen grabs I collected throughout the project. They were assembled as an A1 piece which would later be cut horizontally into 6 equal areas. After printing the whole image onto A1 paper I then screen printed the image of the vector icons on the back so that after it was cut the viewer could re-assemble the 6 foldouts to re create the whole image.

I tried to print the vector icon image using a transparent ink in order to give it a glossy spot varnish appearance. However I didn't anticipate the fact that when I folded the paper it would stick together, this created a slight problem but nothing too serious.

The envelope that holds each section was hand made using tracing paper and each one had a cover illustration card and 2 information cards that had key text on explaining each stage of the design. Unfortunetly an evil person resembling satan stole 2 of these design diaries during our exhibition.
