The Love Rockets are my brothers heavy metal or as he calls the music "hair metal" band. They wanted a piece of artwork such as a logo to go initially as a background for their myspace music site. This is what I produced, as a heavy metal band image is quite allot. I wanted to portray the band well and within the genre of music that they produce, and that entailed using the right imagery, such as sex, drugs, and rock and roll. I also wanted to portray their name in the images I chose.
I used the program illustrator to create vector shapes of guitars, girls, guns and rockets, I then arranged these vector images in a shield form to finnish the design off.
I was happy and so were the band with the work that I had done for them so I was pleased. They also asked me to produce for them a few small flash animations which they would use to advertise themselves on myspace, I used the same imagery in the flash animations as in their logos.
