Cosmos Cutout

This is a personal experimentation piece that I produced for my final degree show. I wanted to experiment with things that I like in design and life, space, triangles, and halftone patterns. The piece is an A1 print out of a picture of a galaxy in space, which I have applied a colour half tone pattern to, I then also adjusted the picture to give more vivid colours tot he piece. I then overlay ed this print out with a A1 piece of mount board. I lazer cut a triangular design into the mount board so that pieces of the galaxy picture show through.

I originally had the idea of putting the whole piece infront of a light box so that the picture behind the cutout mount board would shine through, ideally I would have still done this but I didn't have enough time. I would like to carry on in this project experimenting with the lazer cutter as i believe that there is the possibility of really good things coming from the machine. I will also like to continue drawing these triangular patterns as I really enjoy doing them and think that they look cool.
