A while back I experimented with type drawn by light. Firstly I traced a few words onto black card and then using a pin pricked holes all the way arround each letter to make a stencil. Then using a overhead projector in a dark room i projected the stencil, this created a typeface created by light, I was excited by the possibilites of this, I imageined using the technique on a much bigger scale. I also experimented waving my hand through the projection and taking a long exposure photograph of the type, this caught the projection in mid air as my hand wasnt picked up by the photo by the projection was. I would really like to revisit this idea in further projects perhaps using the type for a poster or at an exhibition.
