I created this isotype typeface to find out how easy it was to make a visual form into a typeface. I used a isometric form which has recently become a trend in contempoary graphic design. I created this typeface using adobe illustrator. I created it using isometric an isometric grid in the illustrator programme.
From this typeface i have discovered how the use of grids and building blocks can make creating typefaces simpler, this justifys the reasoning behind the mathmatical grid systems used in modernist design. Grids give a guideline and a structure to design which makes outcomes easier for designers and non designers alike.
This typeface has also shown me that by using modernist methods contempoary typefaces can be produced with less effort. Which suggests that modernist values are still apparnet and can be used with good effect to create contempoary type.
